Windows Server 2016 is the eighth release of the Windows Server server operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was developed alongside Windows 10 and is the successor to the Windows 8.1-based Windows Server 2012 R2. The first early preview version (Technical Preview) became available on October 1, 2014 together with the first technical preview of System Center.[5] Windows Server 2016 was released on September 26, 2016 at Microsoft's Ignite conference[1] and broadly released for retail sale on October 12, 2016.[2] It was succeeded by Windows Server 2019 and the Windows Server Semi-Annual Channel.
In March 2017, Microsoft demonstrated an internal version of Server 2016 running on the ARMv8-A architecture. It was reported that Microsoft was working with Qualcomm Centriq and Cavium ThunderX2 chips. According to James Vincent of The Verge, this decision endangers Intel's dominance of the server CPU market.[29][30][31] However, later inquiry from Microsoft revealed that this version of Windows Server is only for internal use and only impacts subscribers of Microsoft Azure service.[32]
Follow steps mentioned in this article -us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/quick-create-portal to create Virtual Machines in Azure using Azure portal. And then to configure IIS on your Azure virtual machine, follow the steps below. In this demo I have chosen a Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter image. To setup IIS on Windows VM using PowerShell follow the steps mentioned in this article -us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/tutorial-iis-sql
Hi Carl,I need your help.I am preparing PVS master image :Step1: I build windows2008 R2 servers with XenApp6.5 and required software (Created 2 disk C and D)Step2: I created vdisk in PVS server consoleStep3 :I created device in device collection and attached V-disk to itStep4: Then I changed device boot option from hard diskStep5 : Installed PVS target on serverStep6: Again reboot the server through PXE bootWhen I check attached v disk in task bar say it says disk in inactive , could you please guide me how can I fix this problem.
I have a problem with the image boot. I prepared a new windows 10 image and the PVS server is new with 7.15. The Hypervisor also upgraded to ESX 6.5 version. Now when I try to boot the captured image to a VM, i get the error Error: Access Denied Streaming Aborted
I have a PVS 7.15 farm with two PVS servers running on Windows Server 2012 R2. I have a Hyper-V 2016 cluster and have created a vDisk from a Windows Server 2016 master image. I created a Gen-2 target device by following instructions from
Can we have PVS server in ESX 5.5 where as all streamed worker servers(750 in total, 600 W2K3, 100 W2k8 R2, 50 W2K12 R2) on HyperV 2012 R2? Currently we are streaming worker servers with HyperV legacy NIC. Will there be any problem with Cross platform infrastructure?

Note: You must use the most recent version of Citrix License server to get the latest features. The required version to work with your version of PVS is normally available with the PVS product software. Failing to run the latest version results in PVS entering grace period. Latest version 11.14.0.1 build 19005 (Feb 23, 2017).
Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 introduce the new Set-SMBServerConfiguration Windows PowerShell cmdlet. The cmdlet enables you to enable or disable the SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 protocols on the server component. (A cmdlet is a lightweight command that is used in the Windows PowerShell environment.)
Since WVD is using the RDP protocol, the same human interface device peripherals and USB redirection as you have used with the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client applies with the WVD Desktop client: -us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/remote-desktop-app-compare#redirection-support
Note: Post releases of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 are Integration Services-aware, but for other operating systems, the guest iso file is located in the C:\windows\system32\ path of the Hyper-V server. Hyper-V Integration Services are similar to the VMware Tools package used to improve the interaction of guest operating systems within the VMware virtualization infrastructure. 2b1af7f3a8
